    While control larvae show a clear preference for soybean-containing food over corn-containing food and the amount of soybean food eaten increases linearly within a 60 minute period, larvae mutant for P{GSV1}CG33714GS1189 (which is associated with CG33713GS1189 and CG33714GS1189) do not show any such preference or any increased soybean food intake after 60 minutes. Unlike control larvae, which show a clear feeding preference for yeast extract food, larvae mutant for P{GSV1}CG33714GS1189 (which is associated with CG33713GS1189 and CG33714GS1189) do not show any significant feeding preference at all. When larvae are introduced to the centre of two wells, one filled with yeast-containing agar and the other filled with just agar, larvae mutant for P{GSV1}CG33714GS1189 (which is associated with CG33713GS1189 and CG33714GS1189) take much longer than controls to reach the yeast-containing agar. In contrast to controls, larvae mutant for P{GSV1}CG33714GS1189 (which is associated with CG33713GS1189 and CG33714GS1189) are not attracted to low concentrations of propionic acid or yeast.
